Hip pain

Devon Shockwave Hip painHip pain (Trochanteric bursitis) is inflammation of the bursa (a fluid-filled sac near a joint) at the outer side of the hip. This is a common cause of hip pain.

The main symptoms are pain, swelling and tenderness in the hip area. The pain may appear when lying on the affected side, when you press in on the outside of the hip or when walking, especial up stairs. The pain often gets worse during activities such as getting up from a deep chair or getting out of a car. It can be caused by repetitive movement or through injury.
